Cannabis

Top 3 Types of Cannabis

Three major types of cannabis are recognized by the United States federal government as being legal. Those are cannabis, indoor marijuana, and cannabis-infused products including vaporizer pens, smokeless tobacco, and edibles. At this point in time, three different types of cannabis are available on the market. Three different types of cannabis plants contain the main strains that consumers may find at many medical and recreational clinics. These three types of cannabis are: THC, CBD and Hemp.

THC

THC or tetrahydrocannabinol is the primary ingredient found in cannabis. It is considered to be the most effective and least toxic of all the different types of cannabis found in today’s marketplace. In addition, it is the most potent, as well. When THC and other secondary cannabinoids in cannabis reach their critical levels, called THMs, they can damage cellular DNA and inhibit cell growth. This can lead to a series of different cancers, such as mesothelioma, pancreatic cancer, and breast cancer. Recreational users of cannabis face increased risks of certain cancers and are urged to quit smoking if they use the drug.

CBD

THC is not the only component of marijuana that has side effects that can harm human health. There are two other primary types of cannabis found in marijuana; namely CBD and THC. When CBD and THC are present in the same cannabis plant, it raises the amount of THMs in the plant, preventing further deterioration of cell DNA. While no clinical trials have concluded these conclusions, many believe that CBD and THC are the key culprits in the negative health impacts associated with cannabis. In addition, it is believed that long-term cannabis use has similar consequences to cigarette smoking.

Hemp

Hemp is another way to get around the laws surrounding the three main types of cannabis. Although it cannot be compared to the benefits of THC or CBD, hemp does have its own positive characteristics. Unlike THC and CBD, hemp does not activate a human body’s natural pain relief system, nor does it cause paranoia, moodiness, or agitation. It also does not produce an overwhelming feeling of “being buzzed”. Despite this, some experts still argue that hemp should be legalized, because it may be less harmful than the other two.

Some researchers have claimed that the high levels of THMs present in cannabis are the cause of many health problems, including chronic coughing, depression, and anxiety. Many people who are currently diagnosed with cancer are advised to refrain from smoking cannabis at all costs, since high levels of CBD have been linked with the development of cancerous cells. Other ailments that have been linked to both CBD and THC or HTFSE are: anorexia, anxiety, and chronic fatigue.

No matter which of the three cannabis types a person chooses to use, the use of medical cannabis or extracts Canada continues to be beneficial to society. In fact, it may even become more popular than alcohol and cigarettes, with legalization on the horizon. Since many of the health benefits of recreational cannabis are the same as those of medical cannabis, it is easy to see why patients turn to this type of cannabis for help with their illnesses. Just make sure you get your doctor’s approval before you smoke.
