Hemps

Did you know that hemp oil is increasingly used for skin care? And is it really effective?

Marijuana and hemp both come from the Cannabis Sativa family of plants, they are very similar visually but have one essential difference. Marijuana contains a substance called tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) in a percentage between 15 and 20, while hemp contains it in an amount of less than 0.3%. It is this substance that is responsible for the hallucinogenic effects you have if you try marijuana. That is why it is illegal while hemp is not.

Since we put marijuana aside, today’s story is about hemp and the types of oils that are obtained from it. And why is hemp oil increasingly used for skincare purposes and is it really good for it?

We have determined that hemp has no hallucinogenic properties, however, its oil can have a calming and relaxing effect when consumed orally. There are 2 ways to extract oil from this plant and then the main confusion arises between oils extracted from marijuana flowers and CBD oils extracted from seeds.

The so-called hemp oil is obtained from the tree, leaves, and flowers of the plant, while the CBD oil is obtained from seeds with a high percentage of CBD in itself. CBD oil contains cannabidiol – a chemical compound that is 100% natural, while ordinary oil may or may not contain it. People get scared as soon as they hear the word cannabis because they think of a plant with hallucinogenic effects, but there are over 400 different types of cannabinoids and not all of them have a psychoactive effect. You can’t “inflate” CBD, but CBD can have a calming effect on the nervous system in the form of reducing anxiety and pain, and research shows that it is also good for the skin.

One of the main reasons why CBD oil has started to be used in skincare is its anti-inflammatory effects. It is an excellent source of fatty acids that are excellent for skincare but also for the care of the whole organism. These are omega 6 and omega 3 fatty acids, well known to all and are extremely important for the lipids that make up the structure of the skin.

The concentration of these acids is significantly higher in CBD oil than in other oils. Precisely because of that, it also has an anti-aging effect and is also beneficial for those who have dry skin prone to eczema and psoriasis.

Also, research has shown that this oil is suitable for skin with acne! Many oils are comedogenic, which means they will clog pores, but CBD oil will not. In addition, it has a high level of antioxidants, so it will have a calming effect and accelerate the regeneration of skin cells.
